Children’s Day 
Children’s Day in Poland is celebrated on June 1. Kids receive gifts. Schools and kindergartens host special events for kids – picnics, concerts, sports competitions, etc. There are many events in Warsaw and other cities in Poland organized by the city authorities, institutions, theaters, restaurants.

Orange Warsaw Festival 2018
Location: Horse Racetrack in Służewiec. One of the biggest music festivals in Poland. Click here to read more in English.

Multimedia Fountain Park – an evening special show
Location: Skwer Dywizji 1 (city center). Fountains operate every day from 8.30 am to 10.30 pm. The multimedia show at 9.30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays (fountains, laser, music, and lights), free entrance. This season: “The Bear Prince Legend”. Asian Food Festival 2018 + Children’s Day Celebration
Location: PGE National Stadium, Al. Ks. J. Poniatowskiego 1 Street (Praga), 12 pm – 10 pm, free entrance. The largest Asian Food Festival in Poland. A chance to try hundreds of varieties of Asian food in one place. Attractions for children include dance workshops, kids dance performances, kids’ karaoke (in many different languages), face painting, games, competitions, fancy dress competition, magic show, yoga for kids, poetry reading by kids and much more. “Classically on the Grass” – free open air concert 
Location: Królikarnia Museum of Sculpture Park, Puławska 113a Street (Mokotów), free entrance, 12 pm. “Bella Italia” – the most famous Italian melodies and string orchestra. Facebook event in Polish.

“Wege Bazar” – fair of vegetarian products
Location: Iskra Club at Pole Mokotowskie, Wawelska 5 Street (Mokotów), 12 pm – 7 pm, free entrance. Facebook event in Polish.

“Pixel Heaven 2018” – Retro & Indie Gaming Festival
Location: Creativity Center Targowa, Targowa 46/5 Street and Old Bus Depot, Włościańska 52 Street. Online tickets. Facebook event in Polish and English.

22nd Science Picnic (Piknik Naukowy)
Location: PGE National Stadium (Stadion Narodowy), Al. Ks. J. Poniatowskiego 1 Street (Praga). Free entrance, 11 am – 8 pm. A huge outdoor event promoting science, organized by the Polish Radio and the Copernicus Science Centre in cooperation with universities, research institutes, museums, cultural institutions. Korea Festival
Location: Agrykola Park, Agrykola 1 Street (city center), 11 am – 7 pm, free entrance. Picnic with Korean culture – lots of restaurants and events. Facebook event in Polish and Korean.

“Olympic Picnic” 
Location: Park Kępa Potocka, Wybrzeże Gdyńskie Street, free entrance, 12 pm – 6.30 pm. 40 sports disciplines, shows, competitions, stage performances, games for adults and kids. Facebook event in Polish.

Gelato Festival
Location: Wodny Park Warszawianka (Warszawianka Swimming Pool), Merliniego 4 Street (Mokotów), 12 pm – 8 pm. Event for all ice cream lovers – a competition that recognizes the best Italian and foreign ice cream masters. Facebook event in Polish and English. More in English.

Scale Models Festival
Location: Arena Ursynów, Pileckiego 122 Street, 10 am – 4 pm. Facebook event in Polish and English.

Sunday trading ban – stores are closed
There are new regulations in Poland – stores can operate only 2 Sundays a month (usually first and last Sunday of the month). In June 2018, there is a trading ban on June 10 and 17. Trade ban does NOT include cinemas, restaurants, cafés, small local stores where the owner can work, stores at gas stations, flower shops, pharmacies. Shopping malls can be open but most of the stores inside will be closed (only cinemas, restaurants, pharmacies in shopping malls can be open).

Railway Modeling Event (Giełda Modelarska)
Location: Warsaw Railway Museum (Stacja Muzeum), Towarowa 3 Street (Wola), 10 am – 2 pm (the Museum is open on Sundays 9 am – 5 pm). A chance to buy model railways and trains and meet railway modeling enthusiasts. During the event reduced tickets for everyone (6 PLN, children up to 7 free entrance). The Museum website in English. Dog supply fair and event for dog lovers
Location: “MYSIA 3” center, Mysia 3 Street (city center), free entrance, 11 am – 6 pm. Facebook event in Polish.

Matsuri – Picnic with Japanese Culture
Location: Służew Cultural Center (Służewski Dom Kultury), Bacha 15 Street (Mokotów), free entrance, 11.30 am – 7 pm. Facebook event in Polish. More in English.

“Vegan Summer” Fair of vegan food and products
Location: “MYSIA 3” center, Mysia 3 Street (city center), free entrance, 11 am – 7 pm. Facebook event in Polish.

28th Mozart Festival in Warsaw
Performances and concerts will take place in the Royal Castle,  Warsaw Chamber Opera, the Wilanów Palace. Detailed agenda in Polish. Facebook event in Polish.

“Adventurous Nature Walk” – educational walk guided IN ENGLISH
Location: Wilanów Palace Garden, Stanisława Kostki Potockiego 10/16 Street, 11 am – 12.30 pm, meeting point at the ticket office (small yellow building). Click here to buy tickets online (10 PLN). Art Fair (Targowisko Sztuki)
Location: Arkady Kubickiego (Kubicki Arcades) at the Warsaw Royal Castle, entrance from Grodzka Street. 11 am – 4 pm, free entrance. Warsaw Improv Festival
Location: Kino Muranów, Gen. Władysława Andersa 5 Street and Resort Komedii, Bielańska 1 (city center). Comedy shows performed by Polish and foreign groups, workshops, meetings. Detailed agenda in English and tickets. Facebook event in Polish and English.

Free open-air concert of the classical music
Location: Plac Defilad (square in front of the Palace of Culture and Science), 8 pm, free entrance. More in English.

End of the School Year
The last day of the school year is celebrated with speeches, concerts, shows. Teachers get flowers. Parents of younger kids usually take a day or few hours off to participate in the ceremonies. In 2018, the school year will resume on September 3.

Big Book Festival – international celebration of reading and writing
Location: Fun Park & Climbing Arena, Merliniego 2 Street (Mokotów). The festival of books and reading, including events in English. Many meetings, workshops, and games. Click here to read more in English. Facebook event in Polish.

St. John’s Night / Wreaths (Noc Świętojańska / Wianki)
The holiday has a pagan background (a pagan name is Sobótka meaning fire). Nowadays, it is mostly the opportunity to celebrate midsummer with various festivities, including concerts, singing songs, bonfire jumping. Women wear wildflower wreaths that later are thrown into river or pond.

Father’s Day
It’s not as loudly celebrated as Mother’s Day, however, each mother makes sure that children at least hug their father;)

Wianki nad Wisłą Event (Wreaths)
Location: Multimedia Fountain Park, Skwer Dywizji 1 (city center). One of the biggest free outdoor events in Warsaw – family picnic with many attractions and evening concerts. Facebook event in Polish.

“Grand Bazar” – Fashion Fair
Location: Dom Towarowy Bracia Jabłkowscy, Bracka 25 Street (city center), 11 am – 7 pm. Facebook event in Polish.

International Festival of Street Theaters (Międzynarodowy Festiwal Sztuka Ulicy)
Different locations in Warsaw (eg. New Town Market, Szczęśliwicki Park, Plac Defilad in front of the Palace of Culture, Agrykola Park). Facebook event in Polish.

The Music Gardens Festival (Festiwal Ogrody Muzyczne)
Location: the Royal Castle courtyard (a huge air-conditioned tent decorated with flowers). Concerts and screenings – featuring classical music, ballet, and opera. Click here to read the program in Polish.

24th International Open Air Festival “Jazz at the Old Town” (Jazz na Starówce)
Free jazz concerts each summer Saturday (7 pm) until the end of August on the stage in the Old Town. Click here to read more in English.
