Wielka Fabryka Elfów / The Great Elf Factory – indoor Christmas playing areas for children aged 3-10
Location: PGE National Stadium, Al. Ks. J. Poniatowskiego 1 Street, gate number 5 and 6 (Praga). 10 playing areas with attractions for kids (eg. inflatable playground) – children help elves to create a Santa Claus Elixir, at the end, they meet Santa. Online tickets. Website in Polish. The Elf Factory runs until December 22, 2018.
‘Grand Bazar’ – Christmas edition
Location: Dom Towarowy Bracia Jabłkowscy, Bracka 25 Street (city center), 3 pm – 8 pm, free entrance. Fashion, beauty, design, books, plants, home accessories. Facebook event Polish. The event runs also on Saturday.
Outdoor Christmas Market in the Old Town
Location: Warsaw Old Town, the Warsaw Barbican area, next to the Castel Square (Plac Zamkowy), 11 am – 9.30 pm. Souvenirs, gifts, local crafts and food like pierogi, hot chocolate. Facebook event in Polish. The Market runs until January 6, 2018.
Outdoor Christmas market
Location: the area next to Złote Tarasy shopping center, Złota 59 Street (city center), 12 pm – 10 pm, free entrance. Facebook event in Polish. The event runs also on Saturday and Sunday.
Winter illuminations and shows – the Multimedia Fountain Park
Location: Skwer Dywizji Pancernej (the area between the Old Town and Vistula), free entrance. The holiday illuminations at the Fountain Park are on every day from 3 pm. 15-minutes shows with music on Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 4 pm, 5 pm, 6 pm. More in English. The Multimedia Fountain Park winter illuminations run until January 28, 2019.
“The Royal Garden of Lights” – illuminations festival in the Wilanów Garden
Location: Wilanów Garden, Stanisława Kostki Potockiego 10/16 Street, 4 pm – 9 pm. It can be crowded during weekends, buy tickets online to skip the line. Mappings (illumination, picture, and sound) on the Palace façade: Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 5.30 pm, 6.30 pm, 7.30 pm. Location: Łazienki Royal Garden, Chinese Avenue (Aleja Chińska), from Agrykola Street entrance to Gagarina Street entrance. The lights are on every day until 9 pm. Photos and more in Polish.
The exhibition for children ‘In King Matt’s Poland’ at POLIN – Museum of the History of Polish Jews
Location: Anielewicza 6 Street (Muranów), 10 am – 6 pm. The exhibition for children covers the questions concerning governing a state. More in English about the exhibition. In the Museum, there is a kids-dedicated space and playing area called King Matt’s Family Education Area/U Króla Maciusia (opening hours: 3 pm – 6 pm). The exhibition runs until July 1, 2019.
Location: Guliwer Theater, Różana 16 Street (Mokotów). 11 am and 1 pm: ‘Choinka’ dedicated to children aged 3+, 60 minutes, online tickets (41 PLN), more in Polish. 5.30 pm: ‘Gwiazdka’ dedicated to children aged 5+, 90 minutes, online tickets (31 PLN and 36 PLN), more in Polish.
Location: LALKA Puppet and Actor Theater, the Palace of Culture and Science, entrance from Świętokrzyska Street, left section of the building, 5.30 pm (95 min including a break), more in Polish. Online tickets (38 PLN).
Christmas Show / Widowisko Świąteczne
Location: Teatr Roma, Nowogrodzka 49 (city center), 3 pm and 7 pm, online tickets (160 PLN or 130 PLN), photos, and info in Polish. Theater, opera, and ballet Christmas show (including fragments of “The Nutcracker”, “A Christmas Carol”, holiday songs etc.). Half an hour before the performances, children are invited to the theater foyer for a meeting with classical ballet dancers and introduction to ballet.
