About International Trilingual School of Warsaw

Established in 2001, International Trilingual School of Warsaw (ITSW) offers an original trilingual education program based on international curricula for students aged 1-15 (languages of instruction to select from: English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Polish). ITSW Nursery, Preschool, and Primary School are located on three campuses in Warsaw – in Saska Kępa and the city center.

“Our unique trilingual full immersion approach to teaching empowers our students to develop skills for life while broadening their horizons and joy to learn from our nursery, preschool, primary and middle school programs. We enable the students to pass seamlessly between educational systems and curricula. We follow OPOL : one person – one language method thus our early years, primary and middle school teachers are all qualified teachers and native speakers of Polish, English, Spanish, French, Chinese or Japanese. Languages as tools aid in the development of individual preferences and talents, all while trilingualism consolidates confident, accomplished and open to the world individuals.“

Curriculum / accreditation:

  • International Trilingual School of Warsaw offers original teaching model based on trilingualism
  • The educational program developed by ITSW allows students to continue their education according to the standards of six educational programs: American Common Core program, British National Curriculum, the Finnish National Curriculum, the French National Program, the Polish core curriculum, IB program (PYP-Primary Years Program, MYP Middle Years Program)
  • A common curriculum for three languages of instruction and qualified teachers from countries where they teach in a given language of instruction. The School is guided by the CLIL (Content Language Integrated Learning) principle, in which three languages are an instrument to learn language fluency, school skills and knowledge acquisition
  • ITSW is an accredited member of the European Council of International Schools and registered member of the International Schools Assessment (ISA) program. The ISA program has been designed specifically for students of international schools. It is based on a number of guidelines on reading, knowledge of mathematics and science education as part of the OECD International Student Assessment Program
  • ITSW is registered in the register of non-public schools maintained by the Education Office of the Capital City of Warsaw. The accreditation and duties of a private  school oblige the School to follow good teaching practices and standards, as well as to ensure compliance of health and safety procedures with Polish regulations

“International Trilingual School of Warsaw offers an ambitious educational program based on skills, approaches, ideas, knowledge and action. Through a curriculum based on asking questions, students are encouraged to develop critical thinking, school and social skills, and are encouraged to learn throughout their lives.

We offer stimulating learning experiences that focus on the strengths and individual needs of each child in order to achieve their full potential in terms of academic performance, social skills, emotional and physical development. We create a safe and comfortable environment in which children are cheerful, supported and understood.“

The age range of students:

  • Nursery – children aged 1-2
  • Preschool – children aged 3-5
  • Primary School – children aged 6-15

Languages:

  • Nursery – English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Polish
  • Preschool – English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Polish

These studies show the positive impact of trilingualism on intellectual development.“
