About The Royal Łazienki Museum and Park in Warsaw

The vast park surrounding the summer residence of the last Polish king. A must-see on your Warsaw bucket list! It can be crowded during weekends but it’s also big enough to have a quiet walk in less popular parts of the garden. Amazing during each season – kids can collect chestnuts and colorful leaves during fall, build a snowman and ride a sled during wintertime, observe squirrels in spring, and lie on the grass in summer. Animals that you can observe in the Łazienki Park include peacocks, squirrels, pigeons, ducks. And if it starts raining you can hide in one of the galleries and museums in Łazienki, eg. the Palace on the Isle.

A playground in the Łazienki Park

A new playground has just been opened in the heart of Warsaw – in the historic Park Łazienki Królewskie. The playground is divided into educational and playing zones, dedicated to different age groups. One part of the playground is the water area where children can conduct simple scientific experiments independently.

  • Location: Łazienki Park (Łazienki Królewskie), the southern part of the Park, next to Parkowa Street. Access by car from Gagarina Street.
  • Opening hours are the same as for the Park: 6 am – 10 pm, free entrance.

Winter illuminations in Łazienki Royal Garden

  • Winter illuminations in Łazienki Królewskie are located in the part of the park called Aleja Chińska/Chinese Avenue (from the gate at Agrykola Street to the gate at Gagarina Street).
  • The illumination includes several meters high, luminous figures in period costumes, located along the Aleja Chińska. Colorful lights also illuminate the gates at Agrykola Street and Gagarina Street.
  • The festive lights in Łazienki Park are on every day from dusk until 8 pm (the gates at Agrykola Street and Gagarina Street close at 8.15 pm).
  • The winter illuminations in Łazienki are on until February 29, 2024.

Our tips for visiting the park in winter:

  • In the center of Łazienki Park (next to the main building ‘Palace on the Isle’), there is a small café offering coffee and different kinds of gofry/waffles (location on Google map).
  • Łazienki Park is poorly lit after dark, so it is worth helping yourself with a phone or other flashlight.
  • When you are in Łazienki Park after dark, take a close look at the trees around the pond – you will notice black silhouettes of peacocks sitting on the trees!
