About The International Preschool of Warsaw (IPW)

The International Preschool of Warsaw (IPW) provides children 2-6 years old with a creative and nurturing learning environment, taught exclusively in English. IPW is a private, non-profit preschool, located in the Mokotów district that was established by parents of the American Embassy in 1957. Students are the children or dependents of employees of international businesses, international organizations, foreign embassies, NGO’s, missions, or missionary programs. In addition to the children of expatriates, IPW has local Polish students attending.

“For over 50 years, the mission of IPW, has been to nurture and promote the intellectual abilities, creative talents, language skills, and over-all educational growth of our students. We fulfill this mission by providing a safe, encouraging, and caring educational environment where our students feel secure and confident.“

Curriculum and educational offer:

  • IPW follows the Creative Curriculum developed in the United States. The well supervised, carefully planned, play-based curriculum draws from both the Montessori and traditional perspectives, providing students with structure and routine, while encouraging creative expression and imagination
  • Reading and math readiness, and introduction to art, music, science, geography and nature are integral parts of the curriculum
  • The curriculum enables children with a smooth transition to other local private schools

  • IPW offers the following classes, included with tuition: Gymnastics Class, Art Class, Drama Class, Dance/Music Class, Intro to Music Class, Cooking Class, Library
  • IPW organizes optional Activities and Athletic Clubs to be held during Extended Care such as: Taekwondo, Guitar, Zumba, and football (extra cost for these activities)
  • All classes are exclusively taught in English

The age range of students:

  • Children aged 2 – 6

The language of instruction:

  • English

“We emphasize friendship, community, teamwork, and diversity with a special focus on creating and maintaining positive relationships among peers. Friendships are very important at IPW. We are committed to our families, securing trust by listening and responding as well as offering flexibility and support at all times.”

Admission process:

  • The International Preschool of Warsaw has an open admissions policy (all admissions are subject to availability in the appropriate age group)
  • Parent and student tours are available daily Monday through Friday by appointment. Please contact Iza Nurkiewicz, Director of IPW, at + 48 22 843 0964 or at ipw@ipw.edu.pl to schedule a tour

Tuition:

  • Registration fee: 2000 PLN
  • Monthly payments:
    • TIGGERS Preschool: 2750 PLN
    • FISH PreKindergarten: 2650 PLN
    • OWLS Kindergarten: 2650 PLN
  • There is a 10% discount for families having more than one child attending IPW or a 10% discount on fees paid for the whole year and made out no later than August 20th
