About International Trilingual School of Warsaw (ITSW)

Established in 2001, the International Trilingual School of Warsaw (ITSW) offers a unique trilingual education program based on international curricula for students aged 1-15. Our languages of instruction include English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Polish. ITSW has Nursery, Preschool, and Primary School campuses in Saska Kępa/Praga Południe and the city center of Warsaw/Śródmieście.

Importance of Early Language Learning

At ITSW, we believe that early exposure to multiple languages is vital for cognitive and social development. Our Nursery and Preschool programs immerse children in a multilingual environment from the start, where they learn to communicate in different languages through fun, play-based activities, taking advantage of the first crucial moments of child development.

Children naturally acquire three languages as their own, effortlessly integrating them into everyday life. This approach not only strengthens language skills but also enhances overall brain development, fostering adaptability and critical thinking from the very beginning. Early language learning builds a strong foundation for future academic achievement and a lifetime of multilingual competence.

“Our unique trilingual full immersion approach to teaching empowers our students to develop skills for life while broadening their horizons and joy to learn from our nursery, preschool, primary and middle school programs. We enable the students to pass seamlessly between educational systems and curricula. We follow OPOL : one person – one language method thus our early years, primary and middle school teachers are all qualified teachers and native speakers of Polish, English, Spanish, French, Chinese or Japanese. Languages as tools aid in the development of individual preferences and talents, all while trilingualism consolidates confident, accomplished and open to the world individuals.“

Curriculum & Accreditation

  • ITSW provides an original teaching model based on trilingualism, allowing students to continue their education according to the standards of six international education programs: American Common Core, British National Curriculum, Finnish National Curriculum, French National Program, Polish Core Curriculum, and IB (PYP & MYP).
  • The curriculum integrates three languages of instruction, following the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) principle, enabling students to gain language fluency while acquiring school skills and knowledge. Our qualified teachers hail from more than 30 countries, bringing their diverse cultural perspectives into the classroom.
  • ITSW is an accredited member of the European Council of International Schools  ( ECIS) and a registered member of the International Schools Assessment (ISA) program. We are also registered with the Education Office of the Capital City of Warsaw and follow the highest standards in teaching, health, and safety.

“International Trilingual School of Warsaw offers an ambitious educational program based on skills, approaches, ideas, knowledge and action. Through a curriculum based on asking questions, students are encouraged to develop critical thinking, school and social skills, and are encouraged to learn throughout their lives.

We offer stimulating learning experiences that focus on the strengths and individual needs of each child in order to achieve their full potential in terms of academic performance, social skills, emotional and physical development. We create a safe and comfortable environment in which children are cheerful, supported and understood.“

Support for Newcomers

At ITSW, we offer comprehensive support for children who are new to our school, including Polish as a Foreign Language (PLEA) lessons. This support ensures that all children, regardless of their native language, can smoothly adapt to life in Poland, both in and out of the classroom.

The age range of students:

  • Nursery – children aged 1-2
  • Preschool – children aged 3-5
  • Primary School – children aged 6-15

Languages:

  • Nursery – English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Polish
  • Preschool – English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Polish
  • Primary School – English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Polish

“It is worth to bet on the child’s trilingualism. Research on the relationship between language development, perception and control has shown that multilingual people have much higher cognitive skills in relation to monolingual people. These studies show the positive impact of trilingualism on intellectual development.“
