The Ethnographic Museum (Muzeum Etnograficzne) is located in the center of Warsaw. The exhibitions include folk costumes from Poland and from around the world, ritual accessories, fabrics, decorative ceramics, woodcarving, historic instruments, toys, paper cut-outs, etc. Permanent and temporary exhibitions feature not only Poland, they present the achievements of world culture, with an emphasis on discovering the beauty of diversity.

How to get there?

  • The Museum is located in the city center (Kredytowa Street).
  • Location on Google map.
  • By car: The museum is within a paid parking zone. Visitors can park on eg. Kredytowa, Traugutta, Królewska, Mazowiecka Street. However, it may take some time to find a free spot.
  • By public transport:
    • By metro (M1 or M2): ÅšwiÄ™tokrzyska stop (requires about an 8-minute walk, 600 m), a similar distance from Nowy Åšwiat-Uniwersytet stop (metro M2).

The Museum is closed on:

  • Mondays.
  • Bank holidays.

Tickets:

  • Regular ticket: 19 PLN.
  • Reduced ticket: 10 PLN (students and seniors).
  • Children up to 7 years old have free entrance.
  • Free entrance: every Thursday.
  • You can pay by credit card.
  • The ticket entitles you to visit the Ethnographic Museum and the Museum for Children (a part of the Ethnographic Museum).

Other relevant information:

  • The Museum’s mission is to promote diversity and open society.
  • The exhibitions are located on 3 levels (elevators available).
  • Within the Ethnographic Museum, there is the Museum for Children (Muzeum dla Dzieci). It offers workshops for children, birthday parties in Polish or English and a new interactive exhibition for children every few months.
