The largest science center in Poland. A great idea to spend time indoors for both children and adults. When planning your visit, remember that 2-3 hours at the Copernicus Center is a minimum!

What is available in English?

  • The whole website content
  • The staff speaks good English (they wear red shirts with the Center logo and are eager to assist)
  • Hotline (+48 22 596 41 00) with English speaking operators, operating 8 am – 4 pm
  • The exhibits descriptions, leaflets and brochures are in Polish and English (and some of them in Russian)

How to get there?

  • The Copernicus Center is located in the Powisle (Powiśle) district, near the Vistula river and the Warsaw University Library
  • By car:
    • On weekdays the Copernicus area is within paid parking zone, on weekends it’s free. The visitors can park on small streets around the Copernicus. However, it may be difficult to find a free spot
    • Copernicus Science Centre offers paid (5 PLN per hour, CASH only) parking lots (including underground one), open Monday – Thursday 7 am – 9 pm, Friday – Sunday 7 am – 10 pm
  • By public transport:
    • By bus: 118, 127, 105 (bus stop: Biblioteka Uniwersytecka); 185 (bus stop in tunnel: Metro Centrum Nauki Kopernik); 102, 162 (bus stop: Metro Centrum Nauki Kopernik)
    • By metro: M2 line, Centrum Nauki Kopernik stop (requires 3-minute walk)

Tickets:

  • Regular ticket: 31 PLN (weekdays), 33 PLN (weekends, holidays)
  • Reduced ticket for children, students up to 26, seniors over 65, persons with disabilities: 21 PLN (weekdays), 22 PLN (weekends, holidays)
  • Free entrance: children up to 2 years old
  • Online tickets: website interface available in English. You need to register first. Online tickets are the best option to visit the Copernicus (especially during weekends when it’s really crowded) and to avoid long lines
  • You can print your e-ticket at home (or use a free printer in the entrance hall) and simply pass through the entrance gate with it. Smartphone owners can scan their ticket displayed on the screen of their device (it’s recommended to adjust brightness before)
  • Please note that there is no possibility to re-enter the exhibitions (e.g. plan your meal before or after the visit)

Where to have lunch or coffee?

  • In the main hall (you don’t need a ticket to go there) there is a self-service bistro where you can have breakfast, lunch, snack or coffee (it gets crowded during lunch time)
  • On the 1st floor, you will also find “Sandwich Zone”, where you can eat your own food or buy drinks and snacks

Other relevant information:

  • The ticket includes access to the Buzzz! gallery – a separated playing area dedicated for kids up to 5 years old (older children can enter only with younger siblings). To go there you need a free entry pass for a specific time (make sure to get it when you buy a ticket). Please note that there are water experiments – bring some extra clothes;)
  • To avoid long lines to the traditional cloakroom, we recommend to use lockers – just make sure you have 2 PLN coin to use is (it is returned when you collect your things)
  • With school age kids be prepared to spend there at least 3 hours before they explore everything!
  • In May and June on weekdays there are lots of school groups and it may be difficult to buy a ticket
  • After your visit to the Copernicus Center, if you still have some energy left, there is a roof garden (free entrance) offering a view of Warsaw. Opening hours: May – August: 10 am – 8 pm, September – October: 10 am- 5 pm
  • Next to the Copernicus, there are newly opened Vistula boulevards – a great opportunity for a nice walk, not only during summertime

The Garden on the rooftop of the Copernicus Science Center (Powiśle)

The Garden is open only during summer season. Opening hours of the Garden, May-August: 10 am – 8 pm. The Garden is closed on Mondays. Entrance through a ramp from the southern part of the building. Free entrance.
