About the Palace and Park in Wilanów and the Illuminations Festival

The Museum of King Jan III’s Palace at Wilanów in Warsaw is a baroque residence of King Jan III Sobieski and his wife, Queen Maria Kazimiera. The area next to the Wilanów Palace is 45 hectares! You will find there not only modeled palace gardens in the baroque style but also a river and a vast landscape park. Every year, from mid-October to the end of February, the Museum organizes an illumination exhibition called “The Royal Garden of Light” in its park. This event is top-rated among Warsaw residents and tourists alike.

“The Royal Garden of Light” – illumination festival in Warsaw, Wilanów Garden

“The Royal Garden of Light” (Królewski Ogród Światła) is Warsaw’s must-see sight in autumn and winter evenings, and both adults and children will love it. It’s located in the gardens of a baroque royal palace called the “Polish Versailles”, in the Wilanów district of Warsaw. The Wilanów festival is a unique open-air exhibition with thousands of diodes forming tunnels, trees, installations, and sculptures. The illuminations accompany classical music and mappings on the palace façade (3D shows featuring sounds, images, and lights).

This year, there will be the same light installations as last season (for the last time – the exhibition will change from the 2026/2027 season).
