  • Children aged 3-7: the theme of 2023 Summer Club is TIME HOPPERS: LEARNING ABOUT THE PAST TO SHAPE OUR FUTURE. Children will embark on a journey through time, from prehistoric times to the future. “Time Hoppers” is the perfect summer club for preschoolers who want to learn about history in a fun and engaging way. With imaginative play, creative activities, and interactive lessons, children will develop their love for learning that will last a lifetime. Each week, children will discover a different era and participate in fun and educational activities that bring history to life:
    • Week 1 – Prehistoric Times

During the first week, children will travel back to prehistoric times and learn about cave paintings, and early human civilizations but also about the dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures that roamed the Earth millions of years ago. They will participate in activities such as making salt dough fossils or creating their own cave paintings.

    • Week 2 – Ancient Civilizations

In week two, children will learn about ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Greece, and Rome. They will create their own hieroglyphs, build pyramids using blocks or LEGO bricks, make a pharaoh mask or headdress, and hold their own “Greek Olympics.”

    • Week 3 – The Middle Ages

During week three, children will explore the world of knights and castles in the Middle Ages. They will have a lot of fun designing and decorating their own shields and swords, building miniature castles using cardboard or popsicle sticks, and dressing up in knight and princess costumes.

    • Week 4 – The Renaissance

In week four, children will get familiar with the Renaissance and the great artists, inventors and explorers of this time period. They will try to paint their own masterpiece, create their own invention using everyday objects, and learn about famous people of that time like Christopher Columbus or Leonardo da Vinci

    • Week 5 – Modern Times

In the fifth week, children will learn about modern times and the innovations that have changed the world. They will participate in activities such as building a robot using recycled materials, designing and making paper airplanes or kites and testing them outside, and creating a model of the solar system using styrofoam balls and paint.

    • Week 6 – Future Times

Imagine what the future might hold with a week dedicated to exploring science fiction and futuristic concepts. Create a “time capsule” of your favourite things and ideas to be opened in the future, design and build your own rocket ship.
