Warsaw Uprising Remembrance Day (Dzień Pamięci Powstania Warszawskiego)
The anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 against the Nazis. At precisely 5 pm all the Warsaw city sirens sound and lots of cars and pedestrians stop to commemorate and contemplate people who died in 1944.

23rd International Open Air Festival “Jazz at the Old Town” (Jazz na Starówce)
Free jazz concerts each Saturday (7 pm) in July and August on the stage in the Old Town. Click here to read more in English.

Armored train – visiting tour
Location: The Station Museum  (Warsaw Railway Museum), Towarowa 3 Street (Ochota), 10 am – 6 pm. Tickets available onsite. The train is available to visitors only once a month until September. The Museum website in English.

Chopin and His Europe Festival
An International music festival. Concerts are held at Warsaw Philharmonic, Royal Castle, and Grand Theater. Click here to read more in English.

Polish Army Day – a bank holiday
Polish Army Day is marking the 1920 breakthrough battle called Cud nad Wisłą (the Miracle on the Vistula river) between the Poles under Marshal Piłsudski and the Bolsheviks. The main celebrations are held at Pilsudski Square (Plac Piłsudskiego), including parades and the president speech. August 15 marks also the Assumption of Mary celebrations in Poland which focus on The Sanctuary of Jasna Góra in Częstochowa – on August 15 a pilgrimage (pielgrzymka) destination for many people walking hundreds of kilometers for days from all over Poland. Stores, malls, shopping centers closed, only some smaller local convenience stores can be open (eg. Żabka). You can do basic shopping at gas stations.

Indian Food & Culture Festival 
Location: Palace of Culture and Science, Sala Ratuszowa (City Hall), entrance from Marszałkowska Street, free entrance, 1 pm – 11.59 pm. Click here to read more in English.

Indian Independence day – Vande Mataram Festival

“Męskie Granie” concert tour

Free yoga in the open air

Concerts enhanced with visualizations on the planetarium dome

Chopin music Sunday recitals

Chopin music weekend recitals

City/railway model exhibition at the National Stadium

Location: PGE Stadion Narodowy, gate no. 1, Aleja Zieleniecka Street, 10 am – 8 pm. Kids up to 3 free entrance. Regular ticket 23 PLN. Reduced ticket (kids, students, seniors 65+, disabled people) 19 PLN. Family ticket (2 adults + minimum 2 kids) 18 PLN per person. You can buy tickets online or onsite. “Dali versus Warhol” (Dali kontra Warhol)

Botanical Garden in Powsin

Multimedia Fountain Park
