What is available in English?

  • The Theater website is only in Polish: www.teatrlalka.waw.pl
  • The Theater staff speaks some English
  • All plays are in Polish

How to get there?

  • The Theater is located in the city center in the Palace of Culture and Science (Pałac Kultury i Nauki), entrance from Świętokrzyska Street, left section of the building
  • By car: you can use the huge parking lot surrounding the Palace of Culture and Science. The Parking is available 24 hours a day including weekends and public holidays. There are 4 entrances where you collect a ticket: 2 entrances from Emilii Plater Street and 2 from Marszałkowska Street. When you are ready to leave, before returning to your car, pay the parking fee in one of 10 pay stations (CASH only!). There are 7 exits (2 toward Marszałkowska Street and 5 toward Emilii Plater Street)
    • The parking lot fees: first hour 5 PLN, second hour 4 PLN, each next hour 3 PLN
  • By public transport:
    • By metro (M1 or M2): Centrum stop or Świętokrzyska stop

Tickets:

  • Regular ticket: 35 PLN, online ticket: 38 PLN (no reduced tickets available)
  • You can pay with cards in the ticket office
  • You can buy online tickets, however, the Theater website interface is available only in Polish: http://bilety.teatrlalka.pl/rezerwacja/terminy.html
  • You can buy online tickets at ebilet.pl, which has some basic English translation: https://www.ebilet.pl/en/organizatorzy/teatr-lalka/

Where to have lunch or coffee?

  • In the Theatre, there is a café and bookstore: Tarabuk, where you can have dessert or light lunch. Opening hours:
    • Tuesday – Friday: 10 am – 2 pm
    • Weekends: 11 am – 7 pm
  • In the Palace of Culture and Science:
    • Cafe Kulturalna (http://www.kulturalna.pl/kuchnia.php) restaurant and club is located in the Teatr Dramatyczny (Drama Theatre) foyer, entrance from Marszałkowska Street (left wing of the Palace). It’s a unique opportunity to have a nice meal (food is quite good plus large selection of vegetarian dishes) in one of the rooms of the Palace of Culture
    • Bar Studio (https://www.facebook.com/barstudio.warszawa/) is located in the Teatr Studio foyer, entrance from Marszałkowska Street (right wing of the Palace). It hosts cultural events. The Bar serves breakfast, lunch, and drinks
    • Bistro Trojka (http://www.bistrotrojka.pl/) is located in the main hall of the Palace (entrance from Marszałkowska Street), it serves Polish cuisine
    • Kawiarnia Kinoteka (http://www.kinoteka.pl/kawiarnia) is a café located in Kinoteka movie theater (entrance from Jerozolimskie Street). It serves drinks, desserts, sandwiches
    • SO! Coffee (http://www.socoffee.pl/) is a coffee place located on the 30th floor of the Palace

  • The Theater repertoire includes among others: The Red Riding Hood (Czerwony Kapturek), The Tinderbox (Krzesiwo)by Hans Christian Andersen, The Wonderful Adventures of Nils (Cudowna Podróż) by Selma Lagerlof, Anna – The Ugly Duckling (Anna – Brzydkie Kaczątko) based on Hans Christian Andersen
